This painting is a reimagining of the goddess archetype, envisioned as a matriarchal presence: a queen who does not rule through power, but whose very presence becomes an allegory for guidance through light.
Her crown takes the form of a lighthouse, a beacon held above the darkness, illuminating the way for humanity. She embodies an ancient feminine archetype as protector, guide and keeper of the way, a presence reaching beyond the individual toward the continuity of human existence.
She wears the classical neck ruffle of a queen, while her contemporary shirt with stripes echoes the architecture of lighthouse towers. At her chest, a compass becomes another symbol of direction, suggesting both the inner and outer navigation that allows us to find our way through darkness.
“She is Soteira, the protector.
She is Stella Maris, the light that guides through darkness.
Celestial, constant, unchanging”
