My work attempts to capture ephemeral atmospheres and moods that shape the human experience: A passing thought, a lost memory, or a sudden look that echoes across time. I chase these fleeting impressions in my paintings, embracing the paradox of freezing an impermanent moment inside a fixed image. To express this internal reality, I work with a restricted palette that focuses on unified, dissolving forms. I reject sharp outlines and rigid details, choosing instead a foggy, almost shivering atmosphere where figures seem to either dissolve, emerge or blend into mist.
My paintings are not meant to express an external likeness. Instead, they use external reality as a vessel to capture ever shifting interior impressions. With these images never totally defined, I invite the viewer to bring their own experience into the canvas and perhaps attempt to pin down these fleeting impressions.
